Daily, a few times a week or weekly? It depends on headcount, traffic and the type of space. Here's a simple way to decide.
There is no single answer, but there is a simple rule: the more people and visitors your space gets, the more often high-touch areas need attention. Restrooms and break rooms get dirty much faster than private offices.
A practical guide by office size
Most of our commercial clients land on one of these schedules:
- Up to 10 people: 1–2 visits per week, with restrooms and kitchen every visit
- 10–50 people: 3 visits per week or nightly janitorial service
- 50+ people or customer-facing spaces: nightly service plus a day porter
- Medical, dental and food service: daily disinfection of high-touch points
Add deep work on a calendar
Regular visits keep things tidy; periodic deep work keeps the building in shape. Plan carpet extraction, floor strip and wax and interior glass two to four times a year, depending on traffic.
A written scope of work with a checklist per area makes it easy to know what is done on every visit, and what is done monthly or quarterly.
